I bought the IPOD 60 GB with the two-year Apple Care warranty in December of 2005. Six months later in May of 2007 my IPOD froze up on me and quit working. The people at the "Genius Bar" at Somerset Mall had no idea what was wrong with the IPOD and had no advice how to prevent this problem from occurring in the future. This resulted in the Apple store providing me with a newly refurbished 60 GB IPOD with no music on it. This was an inconvenience to replace all the music but I was still content to have a new working IPOD that was problem free. Yesterday April 23rd 2007 my IPOD quit working again. This time the screen froze solid white and stayed lit up but had no text or response to my several "resetting" attempts. Upon my second visit to the "Genius Bar" I waited 45 minutes to meet with a technician and after his 20 second assessment of the current situation decided to give me yet another refurbished 60 GB IPOD. Again he had no advice to offer me whatsoever how to prevent this from happening again. My two-year Apple Care plan is up as of this December 2007. That leaves me with a new 60 GB IPOD, two of which I have had for less then a year and they when they quit working, and less then 7 months left on my Apple Care warranty plan. After calling Apple's poor excuse for customer service I was informed that there was nothing that could be done and after my Apple Care warranty expires this coming December that Apple will not be able to help whatsoever if my IPOD quits working again. At the very least they could give me an extension on the warranty to cover the new IPOD I have as of now for at least a year from today’s date. I can understand if my IPOD broke once in the two year coverage plan because that is the point of buying the extended warranty, but this is the second time and it has not even been a year and a half since original purchase. Because of this I strongly advise against buying an IPOD or any sort of Apple product.
